Flowers Of Hades hit the scene with their new single “Onslaught” and the name is very apt with the sonic devastation that they release with this track. Coming hot off the tail of their previous release “Trigger Warning,” “Onslaught” takes your ears for a ride. These five rockin’ dudes come from Wellington, New Zealand, and put NZ’s scene on the map for me. “Onslaught” is an assault on the senses and comes at you in totality.
The technical ability of the guitars and the soft chorus vocals interjected in between heavy and relentless guitar work with guttural vocals get you amped. The guitar work in particular is excellent and keeps your attention with its high speed and precision.
Vocally “Onslaught” is a hell of a journey. The harsh vocals carry the song in their hands and pass it off to the clean parts easily. Towards the end, you have a masterfully done chorus-esque bridge, the tapping, and atmosphere put the clean in a great space for me.
The drums and bass guitar work so well in tandem together. They provide a backbone to a tastefully done song. You can really tell that they put a ton of work into this to make a perfect release.
Check these boys out as they continue to put out awesome tunes!
